Overall, the RB36 backpack is a perfect solution for fastpacking enthusiasts. With its superior materials, the backpack provides durability, flexibility, and functionality, allowing you to move faster and further with less fatigue. Version 2 is lighter and comes with improved features such as quick-releasing shoulder straps, a tunnel pocket, and a loading Y-strap.

Love the bag but would suggest a few things to make it truly stellar.
1. The g hook provided is quite sharp and because of this, it does not slide well across the webbing when trying to adjust. I would invest a little more on a g hook that is more smooth on the edges and has an easier opening.
2. Would be amazing if the backing of the backpack had simple insert pockets for back padding so that you don't need to try to tie down any padding. Quick and easy to add and remove padding and hassle free.
3. Slightly thicker and smoother cord for the drawstring opening. I can see the weight saving on the one provided but it feels sticky and hard to find/grab.
All in all though, very pleased with the bag and look forward to using it for many years.

This has been an incredible pack. I used it this year on the Hayduke Trail, the Arizona Trail, and large sections of the Te Araroa. It has held up remarkably well given the challenging terrain and mileage I've put it through. It has been much more comfortable than some of the other ultralight packs that I have used. The updated version looks fantastic and addresses the few reservations I had with the original.
Really glad to have stumbled over this. I bring it on overnight hikes, to mountain hut trips, on the airplane, cafe visits etc etc.I also feel like it gets comfier over time, almost like it mold to your back.
I've also never gotten so many compliments on a backpack before, lot's of love.
